Hatch Feeding Therapy
is made up of experienced and accredited speech pathologists.
We provide swallowing, feeding, oral motor, and mealtime services in the following ways;

- Clinic, Telehealth, Home and Community Visits
Hatch Feeding Therapy provides services to children from birth to around 18 years of age.
We are highly experienced in working with children who have a range of different needs, including but not limited to children who;
- Have a Developmental Delay
- Were born prematurely and/or of low birth weight
- Have Dysphagia (swallowing difficulties)
- Have been diagnosed with PFD, ARFID, Failure to Thrive/Poor weight gain
- Have Autism or ADHD (or other Neuro-diverse presentation)
- Have Cerebral Palsy
- Have a genetic syndrome
We also work with a number of children and families who don’t have a diagnosis.
Therapy and goals are not determined by a child’s diagnosis, but instead by their individual needs and priorities at any given time.
Paediatric Feeding Development
Breast and/or bottle feeding difficulties (attachment, sucking, swallowing, bottle/teat selection)
Bottle refusal or aversion
Dysphagia (swallowing difficulties)
Tongue tie – functional assessment, strategies to manage nipple pain/damage, supply, and referral for release if necessary
Oral-motor difficulties (sucking, biting, chewing etc)
Failure to Thrive/poor weight gain
Supporting the development of oral feeding while being tube fed
Tube Weaning – transitioning from tube feeding to oral feeding (in conjunction with your medical team & other professionals)
Excessive gagging or vomiting during feeding
Safe transitioning through solids (e.g. progressing from purees up to finger and family foods)
Paediatric Feeding Disorder (PFD)
Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID)
Positive Mealtime Support
Fussy / picky eaters
Restricted eaters (small range of safe foods)
Food refusal / mealtime refusal
Aversions to food and/or mealtimes
Stressful mealtimes

Workshops or Training Packages for care and educational settings.
We thoroughly enjoy and value working with care and educational settings to provide training and advice around ‘feeding’ children in these settings. These trainings can be tailored to suit the needs of your group. For example this might include 1 x large group workshop/training + 1 x group Q & A + policy writing/reviewing support + ongoing implementation support.
